My personal views on The Beautiful Game

Deja Vu

April 2, 2018 by Steve Collins

Earlier this season I praised a tactic used by Man City, which I had never seen before, in my post ‘Tales of the Unexpected’. On Saturday, it resulted in their second goal, against Everton. The MOTD pundits, Shearer and Murphy, were singing the praises of Leroy Sane whose link-up play in the build-up was excellent. But no comment was made by them on the tactic, which in the blink of an eye gave City a 4 on 3 attacking advantage, and, on this occasion, a goal from their own goal-kick. Maybe they haven’t yet spotted what Pep is doing either.

Oh, and who was it that Pep has outwitted this time? None other than defensive mastermind Sam Allardyce!

For reasons known only to himself, Big Sam’s obviously not reading my blog!
